This set contains 30 space-filling magnetic pieces made from polystyrene that can be easily snapped together to show all of the functional groups including esters and amino acids. Also illustrates the double bonds between two carbon atoms, the benzene ring with removable magnetic hydrogen atoms, the reaction of carboxylic acid and alcohol to produce an ester, and the chair and boat form of the cyclohexane molecule.
The components are colorful 2 in. balls that can be seen from the back of the room. Magnetic unions work with pegs and springs to show different configurations of molecules.
