Description

IL33 is a proinflammatory cytokine with structural homology similar with IL-1 family cytokines. IL33 exerts its biological effects by binding to the receptor ST2 and forming a complex with IL-1 Receptor Accessory Protein. Intracellular proteins within in the NFκB and MAP kinase signaling pathways are activated leading to the production of the type 2 cytokines IL-5 from polarized TH2 cells.
