DescriptionGM130, also known as Golgin subfamily A member 2 and GOLGA2, is a 130kDa member of the Golgin protein family. GM130/GOLGA2 is a component of the Golgi membrane involved in maintaining cis-Golgi structure. GM130/GOLGA2 protein is thought to play roles in the stacking of Golgi cisternae and in vesicular transport. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been predicted. Human GM130/GOLGA2 protein is 1002 amino acids (aa) in length, and over aa 528‑606, shares 90% sequence identity with its mouse and rat orthologs.
