Recommended for a variety of molecular biology techniques, Thermo Scientific™ Insulin Receptor (α-Subunit) Ab-3, Mouse Monoclonal Antibody provides accurate, reproducible results.

The human insulin receptor is a heterotetrameric membrane glycoprotein consisting of disulfide-linked subunits in a Β-α-α-Β configuration. The Β-subunit (95kDa) possesses a single transmembrane domain with tyrosine kinase activity, whereas the α-subunit (135kDa) is completely extracellular.

Species Reactivity: Human, Cow, Pig and Sheep. Weakly reacts with Rabbit. Does not react with mouse and rat. Others not known.

Epitope: Exon 7/8

Positive Control: IM-9 lymphocyte cells

Cellular Localization: Membrane Ab-3 inhibits (>90%) insulin binding and Blocks insulin action.
