meso-Tetraphenylporphyrin is a porphyrin-based compound of interest in molecular electronics and supramolecular building blocks. Porphyrins are often used to construct structures in supramolecular chemistry. It finds it application as a sensitizer used for the photochemical generation of singlet oxygen.
