CD24 Mouse anti-Human, Brilliant Violet 786, Clone: ML5, BD Optibuild
Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: BD Biosciences 740971
The ML5 monoclonal antibody specifically binds to CD24. CD24 is a 35-45 kDa two-chain glycoprotein expressed on hematopoietic cells, such as the surface of B cells, T cells, neutrophils, dendritic cells and macrophages. Expression on neural cells, epithelial cells and muscle cells have also been reported. CD24 is an adhesion receptor often used as a prognostic marker for cancer cells. Glycosylation levels can be highly variable and cell-type dependent. On B-cell progenitors, CD24 is expressed at various levels during B-cell development and may play a role in the regulation of B-cell proliferation and maturation. CD24 has been identified with the ligand CD62P (P-selectin), which can be found on activated platelets.
The antibody was conjugated to BD Horizon BV786 which is part of the BD Horizon Brilliant Violet family of dyes. This dye is a tandem fluorochrome of BD Horizon BV421 with an Ex Max of 405-nm and an acceptor dye with an Em Max at 786-nm. BD Horizon BV786 can be excited by the violet laser and detected in a filter used to detect Cy7-like dyes (eg, 780/60-nm filter).
