    R-Phycoerythrin (R-PE) is a fluorescent protein from the phycobiliprotein family, and is isolated from cyanobacteria, red algae and cryptomonads. The absorbance spectrum of R-PE covers a broad range of excitation wavelengths, which provides an advantage for multi-color immunofluorescent staining or cell sorting. R-PE is one of the most intensely fluorescent phycobiliprotein having orange fluorescence. It is significantly brighter and more photostable than conventional organic fluorophores and it has a high quantum yield. It has a strong absorption peak at 565 nm, and a secondary absorption peak at 492 nm. The emission peak is at 575. The amount of antibody used for labeling should be the same as the pack size of LL-R-PE. For any new antibody, optimization of the ratio of antibody to dye is often worthwhile. If your antibody needs to be concentrated, purified, or cleaned up, consider purchasing an antibody clean up kit.
