Description: This YL15 monoclonal antibody recognizes human OCT1 (POU2F1) and is predicted to recognize mouse POU2F1. Applications Reported: This YL15 monoclonal antibody has been reported for use in western blot and immunocytochemical staining. Applications Tested: This YL15 antibody has been tested by western blot on HeLa wild type and POU2F1 knock-out lysate and NTERA-2 lysate. This may be used at less than or equal to 4 μg/mL. This YL15 antibody has been tested by immunohistochemical staining of cultured A549 cells. This may be used at less than or equal to 1.25 μg/mL.
OCT1 (POU2F1) is a ubiquitously expressed transcription factor that binds to the octamer motif (5′-ATTTGCAT-3′) and activates the promoters of the genes for some small nuclear RNAs (snRNA) and of genes such as those for histone H2B and immunoglobulins. It modulates transcription transactivation by NR3C1, AR and PGR (By similarity). In case of human herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection, POU2F1 forms a multiprotein-DNA complex with the viral transactivator protein VP16 and HCFC1 thereby enabling the transcription of the viral immediate early genes.Specifications
