Description

OPTIZYME™ Klenow Fragment is the large fragment of DNA Pol I and exhibits both 5'->3' polymerase and 3'->5' exonuclease activity.

Applications and Features:

  • OPTIZYME Klenow Fragment blunts DNA ends by filling in 5'-overhangs
  • Random-primed DNA labeling
  • Labeling by filling in 5'-overhangs of double-stranded DNA
  • Random-primed DNA labeling
  • DNA sequencing by the Sanger Method
  • Second strand synthesis of cDNA
  • Site-specific mutagenesis of DNA with synthetic oligonucleotides
  • Active in buffers for OPTIZYME restriction enzymes, reverse transcriptases and T4 DNA ligase
  • Incorporates modified nucleotides (e.g., Cy3-, Cy5-, aminoallyl, biotin-, digoxigenin-, and fluorescently-labeled nucleotides)
  • Lacks the 5'->3' exonuclease activity of DNA Polymerase I
