Description

Description

Thermo Scientific™ R-Phycoerythrin is a red-fluorescent, multi-subunit protein that can be crosslinked or conjugated to other molecules to make fluorescent probes.

The large phycobiliprotein R-phycoerythrin is an excellent dye for applications such as flow cytometry and immunofluorescence that require high sensitivity and/or multicolor detection. R-phycoerythrin makes an ideal probe because it has an intense excitation and emission at long wavelengths where there is little interference from other biological compounds, and because it has a large Stokes shift and high quantum yield. In addition, phycoerythrin is water-soluble and has multiple potential sites for labeling.

Highlights:

  • Molecular Weight: 240,000
  • Excitation Wavelength: 480, 545, 565nm
  • Emission Wavelength: 578nm
