Demonstrate motility in microorganisms with Thermo Scientific™ Remel™ Motility Test Medium.

Motility Test Medium is a modification of the formulation of Tittsler and Sandholzer for detection of motility in enteric gram-negative bacilli1. When results of motility determinations in hanging-drop preparations and semi-solid agar were compared, they observed perfect correlation2.

Motility Test Medium is a semisolid media that is used to demonstrate motility in microorganisms. Agar provides a semisolid medium which allows macroscopic motility interpretations.

Motility Test Medium contains gelatin peptone and beef extract that supply vitamins and nitrogenous compounds essential for bacterial growth. Sodium chloride provides essential electrolytes and maintains osmotic equilibrium.
