For situations where air quality has been compromised and rapid evacuation is critical. Hood is easy to don, requires no fit testing, and can be worn by persons of all sizes with glasses and/or facial hair; its clear polyurethane construction permits an unobstructed field of vision.

“Grab and go” escape respirators consist of:

  • Clear, polyurethane hood with a supplied air hose and a secure elastomeric neck seal
  • Rechargeable aluminum air cylinder with pressure gauge and reducer assembly
  • Sturdy nylon strap that allows the cylinder to be carried or worn on the neck or shoulder
  • Safety orange, PVC-coated polyester carrying bags for rapid deployment

Standard 5- or 10-minute apparatus deliver emergency air at a rate of 1.4 cfm (40L/min.).
A “high flow” version of the 5-minute respirator is also available. Used in escapes requiring great exertion (climbing stairs, ladders, etc.), this unit provides air at a rate of approximately 2.6 cfm (75L/min.) for easier breathing at higher rates.


All devices are NIOSH certified: 5-minute standard flow (2216 psi), TC-13F-486; 10-minute standard flow (3000 psi), TC-13F-487; 5-minute high-flow (3000 psi), TC-13F-488.


Ten-minute breathing apparatus meets maritime Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) requirements under Regulation 13, Chapter 11-2.
