SENP8 Rabbit anti-Human, Mouse, Rat, Polyclonal, Invitrogen
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Manufacturer: Invitrogen PA549754
The antibody detects endogenous levels of total SENP8 protein.Principal Names: Cysteine protease FKSG8; DEN1; FKSG8; HsT17512; NEDP1; PRSC2; SUMO/sentrin specific protease family member 8; Official Gene Symbol: SENP8 Gene ID: 123228 (Human) Gene Map Locus: 15q23 (Human) SENP8, is a novel cysteine protease which belongs to the ULP family of deubiquitinases. ULP family members consist of a C-terminal core catalytic domain and N-terminal extensions determining substrate specificity. SENP8, a 24KDa protein, plays a major role in regulating NEDD8 pathway. It processes preNEDD8 to its mature form and deconjugates NEDD8 from substrates such as Cullins and p53. SENP8 may play a role in preventing accumulation of hyper-neddylated cullin and maintaining the level of mono-neddylated cullin that is thought to increase the efficiency of ubiquitination by SCF ubiquitin ligases.
