    Conduct gross examination and sectioning of specimens with Thermo Scientific™ Shandon™ Gross-Star™ Pathology Workbenches. Designed for quick and easy installation, this workbench fits through a standard 32 in. (81.3cm)doorway in one convenient assembly.

    Superior Functionality:

    • Optional 1/2hp disposal is available (please check with local authorities before ordering a unit with a disposal; some areas prohibit the use of disposals)
    • Hands-free foot pedal controls for cold/hot water faucet and optional formalin dispensing system

    • 1/2 in. (1.3cm ) industrial grade flexible hoses with 3/4 in. (1.9cm) female hose fittings supplied for connection to water supply lines
    • 11/2 in. (3.8cm) I.D. reinforced flexible hose provided for connection to facility drain line
    Remote Exhaust:
    • If your facility can supply an exhaust duct and remote blower system that provides an airflow of 550 to 600cfm (0.260 to 0.283 cu. m/s), a ducted unit will be best. (Facility duct and remote blower by others; no filters.)
    • Recommended exhaust airflow volume: 550 - 600cfm (0.260 to 0.283 cu. m/s)
    • Pressure loss through unit with standard downdraft: 0.15 - 0.18 in. w.g. (0.37 - 0.45mb)
    • Pressure loss through unit with optional backdraft: 0.27-0.33 in. w.g. (0.67 - 0.82mb)

    Average Capture Velocity:
    • Downdraft at 3 in. above work surface: 72-78fpm (0.366 - 0.396m/s)
    • Backdraft at back of work surface: 156-170fpm (0.792-0.864m/s)
    • Backdraft at front of work surface: 59 - 64fpm (0.300 - 0.325m/s)
