The antibody detects endogenous levels of total SYNCRIP protein.

NSAP1, NA1-associated protein, also called hnRNP (heterogeneous Nuclear Ribonucleoprotein-like protein) was recently discovered as a cellular protein that interacts in vivo with NS1. This protein is closely related to some common neurodegenerative disease. NSAP1 contains four tandem ribonucleoprotein (RNP) domains, which bind pre-mRNA, mRNA, pre-rRNA, and small nuclear RNA. It plays critical roles in all aspects of mRNA processing, including pre-mRNA splicing, mRNA transport and mRNA translation, stability and turnover. Binding of hnRNPs is proposed to modulate RNA secondary structure and allow access to trans-acting factors to regulated splicing and mRNA export.
