Description

Used in protein precipitation. Trichloroacetic Acid, MP Biomedicals is a decalcifier and fixative in microscopy that has been used to determine protein concentration by quantitative precipitation. A protocol exists for the precipitation of nucleic acids.

Solubility Information Soluble in water; very soluble in ethanol or ether. Decomposed by heating with caustic alkalies into chloroform and alkali carbonate.
