Thermo Scientific™ Zeba Spin Desalting Plates provide high-throughput removal of salt and small molecules from samples, preparing them for mass spectrometry, HPLC, capillary electrophoresis, metabolite screening and assay development.

These 96-well filter plates provide high-throughput desalting and buffer exchange for 20 to 100µL samples. Each well contains high-performance size-exclusion chromatography resin (Zeba Desalting Resin) that effectively traps and removes salts and small molecules upon addition of the sample(s) and centrifugation of the plate assembly. The desalted samples are recovered in a standard 96-well collection plate, making them ready for downstream handling and processing using multichannel pipetter or automated liquid handlers. The Zeba 96-well Spin Desalting Plates require no resin dispensing or hydration. One plate of 96 samples can be processed in five minutes.

Zeba Desalting Resin provides exceptional desalting and protein recovery characteristics. For the designated sample volumes (20 to 100µL), these plates provide exceptional protein recovery and at least 95% removal of salts and other small molecules. Proteins that are significantly larger than the molecular-weight cutoff (MWCO) rating of the resin are recovered at greater than 95%; proteins that are only slightly larger than the MWCO rating are recovered at approximately 85%. Desalting plates with 7K and 40K MWCO resins are offered.

Desalting is a critical step in identifying and quantifying proteins in biological systems, and sample prep automation is a desirable goal for enabling high throughput proteomics analysis. These ready-to-use plates meet this goal, enabling rapid sample prep for an array of downstream analyses such as mass spectrometry, HPLC, capillary electrophoresis, metabolite screening, and assay development.

Desalting filter plates (pre-filled with Zeba Desalting Resin) and an equal number of wash plates and collection plates

Requires:

Variable-speed centrifuge with rotor and carrier capable of handling stacked plates (height = 4.4cm) at 1000 x g
