Glass microfiber filter recommended for pre-filtration of membrane filters and is also used in combination with Grade 121 as a highly efficient protective and retentive grade density pre-filter for membrane filters.
Medium thick paper is recommended for general chromatography application. Also ideal for use as wicks in protein or nucleic acid blotting to provide a uniform flow or buffer through the gel to transfer membrane in a blotting sandwich.
This grade has superior absorbency and offers excellent performance when used as a sample carrier. The extra thickness gives higher wet strength and loading capacity, enabling more precipitate to be held without clogging the filter.
A medium speed grade used in general laboratory applications to retain particles above 2 μm in size. It is also used in agricultural and environmental laboratories for plant growth trials, soil testing and air analysis for monitoring specific contaminants.
Offers extremely high flow and is recommended for both electrophoresis of large molecules and as a blotter to complete the blotting sandwich in gel transfer applications.
This grade has superior absorbency and offers excellent performance when used as a sample carrier. The extra thickness gives higher wet strength and loading capacity, enabling more precipitate to be held without clogging the filter.
Ahlstrom Grade 161 is a binder-free microfiber glass filter that offers finer particle retention and higher flow rate than traditional analytical papers.
Slow flowing filter paper designated to retain fine particles encountered in qualitative analysis. Widely used for water analysis, biological products and fine precipitates such as cold-precipitate barium sulfate. It is also used in Buchner funnels and to clarify cloudy suspensions.
Ahlstrom-Munksjo qualitative filter paper is recommended for use in analytical methods, which determine or identify particulate constituents of a mixture irrespective of the amount present. They are often used in routine separation work that still requires high purity and consistent performance.
Ashless Grades are suitable for both gravimetric analysis and sample preparations where a high-purity filter is preferred in the preparation of the samples for use in analysis involving instrumental techniques.
