Genistin (Genistine) is an isoflavone from the phytoestrogen family, acting as a potent anti-adipogenic and anti-lipogenic agent. It attenuates cellular growth and promotes apoptotic cell death in breast cancer cells by modulating the ERalpha signaling pathway. It also negatively regulates ERα, down-modulates ER nuclear translocation, and suppresses oncogenic markers in MCF-7 cells.
