Avermectin B1 (Abamectin) is a mixture of two similar segments of avermectin. It is an orally active anti-infection agent used in the research of parasitic worms, insect pests, agriculture, and animal husbandry. Avermectin B1 can also induce the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and leads to cytotoxicity, apoptosis, and autophagy.
- Acts as an orally active anti-infection agent
- Induces reactive oxygen species (ROS) production
- Leads to cytotoxicity, apoptosis, and autophagy
- Effective against intestinal strongyles and Onchocera microfilaria
- Shows nematicidal effect on G. pallida
- Induces cytotoxicity through MAPK and ATM/ATR pathways
- Inhibits ROS-mediated PI3K/AKT signaling, leading to apoptosis and autophagy
