Plastic Tubing
Plastic tubing of various lengths and bores constructed of materials suitable for general laboratory, biopharmaceutical, food and beverage, medical, vacuum, low-pressure, high-pressure, cleanroom or environmental applications. Products may be chemical- or corrosion-resistant. Formulated for resistance to flex fatigue and abrasion, plastic tubing is more flexible and less permeable than rubber tubing.
How Is Plastic Tubing Used?
Flexible plastic tubing may be used as transfer lines for contamination fluid control, hydraulics, protective jacketing, vacuum pump and diaphragm pump feeds and discharges, refrigeration, water and fluid lines, food and beverage, instrumentation, research laboratories, agriculture, material handling, air and gas lines, chemical lines and pharmaceuticals.
Types of Plastic Tubing:
• PVC: lightweight and flexible, will retain its bore on bending and can be sterilized up to 121°C
• Silicone: ideal where a hard-wearing material is needed, including transfer of liquids or higher temperature environments
• LDPE: good for general low pressure and temperature, instrumentation, corrosive atmosphere, and food processing
• PTFE: has excellent chemical-resistant and temperature-resistant properties
• PE: flexible, lightweight, durable, and corrosion resistant, used for a wide range of liquid, gas, and fluid transfer applications
• FEP: clear, small-diameter tubing, the economical choice for chemical resistance and broad temperature exposure
• PEEK: high-performance polymer with mechanical and chemical resistance, and highly resistant to thermal degradation

Altafluor 400 PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy) is the product of choice for applications involveing extreme chemical resistance combined with high temperature. Altifluor 400 is made exclusively from 100% virgin grade high performance resin used to resist stress cracking. The highest molecular weight resins available giving it superior physical properties making it suitable for even the most demanding applications. Chemically inert to nearly all industrial chemicals and solvents. It has a higher thermal stability than FEP. is translucent in appearance. It is FDA compliant for food contact, FDA 21 CFR 177.1550. It meets the requirements of USP Class VI, is non-flammable and has a moisture absorption of nearly zero. Altafluor is compatible with flare of conventional fittings.

Versilon PTFE tubing is a chemically inert, high-temperature fluoropolymer tubing designed for precise fluid transfer and analytical applications. The tubing measures 1/16 in inner diameter, 1/8 in outer diameter, with a 0.031 in wall thickness, and is supplied on a 50 ft spool.
