These flangeless vac cartridges feature Oasis WCX sorbent, a polymeric reversed-phase, weak ion exchange mixed-mode sorbent. They are optimized for fast, simple, and highly selective sample preparation of strong basic compounds and quaternary amines.
- Sorbent is water wettable, maintaining high retention and excellent recoveries even if dry.
- Eliminates the need for extraordinary steps to prevent sorbent beds from drying out during pre-sample loading.

Sep-Pak Amino Propyl (NH2) Vac RC cartridges offer a moderately polar, silica-based bonded phase with a weakly basic surface. They can function as a polar sorbent for acidic/basic analytes or as a weak anion exchanger (below pH 8). Applications include extraction of phenols, saccharides, and drugs. These cartridges have an integral 20 cc funnel-shaped reservoir for larger samples and are compatible with robotic systems or vacuum manifolds.

Sep-Pak Alumina B Vac cartridges contain a highly active grade of alumina with a basic surface chemistry. The aluminum oxide surface provides an extremely polar surface for analyte retention and has properties of a Lewis acid. This normal phase sorbent is similar in use to silica; however, it is slightly more stable than unfunctionalized silica under high pH conditions. This basic alumina is also low-capacity ion exchanger in aqueous media. Sep-Pak Alumina B Vac cartridges can be used to extract phospholipids, steroids, and catecholamines. Since Sep-Pak Alumina B is unaffected by high-energy radioactivity, these cartridges can be used for radioactive compound isolation. These syringe-barrel-type cartridges are designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments.

This silica-based polar bonded phase can be utilized as a less polar alternative to silica in normal-phase applications or as a less hydrophobic alternative to C18 or C8 in reversed-phase applications. It is typically applied in areas such as drug metabolite analysis and pesticide residue studies.
