SCBA Air Systems
Air systems are complete self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) designed to provide breathable air in hazardous environments such as firefighting and other situations that are immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH). Available in both industrial and firefighting configurations, SCBA air systems are worn on the user’s back, allowing free movement without the need to connect to an airline. NIOSH-approved apparatus consists of a back frame with adjustable straps, an air cylinder, a pressure reducer and regulator, a full facepiece, a remote pressure gauge, and a low-pressure alarm. Additional components may be featured on other models.
Air system accessories are also available for purchase separately including, but not limited to, shoulder pad kits, upgrade packages, and alarm assemblies. Air-system-specific replacement parts are available when original pieces are worn or no longer in workable condition. Examples include, but are not limited to, washers, o-rings, springs, shafts, and pistons.
