Stain for location and detection of proteins. Protocol: After SDS-PAGE, transfer the gels in fixing solution (30% methanol and 7% acetic acid) for 30 min. under constant agitation. Replace the fixing solution, submerge the gel in stain and shake the gel gently gor 2-4 hrs. Pour off the stain, rinse the gel briefly with fixing solution and cover the gel with fresh fixing solution for 30 min. Repeat and continue destaining until distinct blue bands against a clear background are obtained. Store the gel in 7% acetic acid solution.
