The Instech C30PU-RGA1439 is a specialized polyurethane rat gastrointestinal (GI) catheter designed for precise dosing or sampling within the digestive tract. This 3Fr (1.0mm OD) catheter features a 14 cm (5.5 in) intramural segment and a 39 cm (15.4 in) external segment, tailored for consistent placement. Polyurethane is the material of choice for GI applications due to its biocompatibility and resistance to the harsh enzymatic environment of the gut. It is typically used in conjunction with a Vascular Access Button™ or swivel system to allow for continuous access while the animal remains freely moving in its home cage.

Using model organisms with soft skulls, such as the mouse and the neonatal rat, are difficult to secure firmly in a traditional stereotaxic instrument. The Mouse/Neonatal Rat Adaptor is designed for use with the traditional 'U' frame Stereotaxic instrument. The adaptor employs light, Delrin Ear Bars with tapered points on one end, and rubber tips on the other, to facilitate surgery on mice and rat pups.
