10mm Stirrer Shaft Coupling, Universal, 1/4" OD Stud. Coupling incorporates a universal joint to compensate for misalignment of drive motor and glass stirrer shaft. Nylon bushing compresses around shaft using an allen screw. Stainless steel stud attaches directly to the chuck of a stirrer motor. The 45¿ impellers are set up to stir downwards in a clockwise direction and upwards when rotated counter-clockwise. Agitator hub is open so that it can be positioned anywhere along the shaft. The design of our Tru-Stir stirrer shaft coupling eliminates the need to use rubber hose or universal adapters to attach your stirrer shafts to overhead stir motors. Coupling incorporates a unique helical S.S. spring permitting up to 1/4¿ of offset misalignment and 45¿ of angular misalignment. Coupling is rated for 24 in-lbs of torque without the backlash normally associated with common coil springs. Lower portion of coupling has a nylon adapter with a one piece collar for attachment to 12.7mm (OD) stirrer shafts. Female Upper Coupling is 3/8".
