Dermatophyte Test Medium (DTM) is a selective and differential medium utilized for the detection and presumptive identification of dermatophytes from clinical and veterinary specimens. Rapidly-growing species may produce a complete color change in the medium in 3 days. Slower-growing species will change the indicator in longer time periods. Other organisms may grow, but will not produce a color change.
