Influenza A virus (H3N2) strain A/Hong Kong/8/68 is a high-titer, purified, live virus suspended in 1X PBS + 0.1% Sodium azide that was prepared via purification through sucrose gradient centrifugation. This strain is propagated in SPF embryonated chicken eggs and was isolated in 1968 from a human patient in Hong Kong. It has a variety of applications, including respiratory disease research, assay development, spiking studies, and testing virucides.
