Leukapheresis is performed using the Spectra Optia Apheresis System. Mononuclear cell-rich blood is continuously collected with ACD-A anti-coagulant. During collection, autologous plasma is combined with apheresed cells at a 4:6 ratio. Leukopak collections result in large yields of single-donor mononuclear cells (MNCs).
This product is filled to deliver no less than 280mL and is shipped in a 300mL transfer bag. TNC in our leukapheresis products are composed of, on average, 50% T cells, 20% monocytes, 10% B cells, 7% NK cells, and 3% granulocytes. Actual TNC concentration and cell type percentages vary from collection to collection.
HLA and CMV status are available upon request. All donors undergo an in-person screening including bloodborne pathogens testing, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and HIV 1 and 2.
