This antibody recognizes a protein of 30 kDa, identified as CD70. It is a cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. This cytokine is a ligand for TNFRSF27/CD27. It is a surface antigen on activated, but not on resting, T- and B-lymphocytes. It induces proliferation of co-stimulated T cells, enhances the generation of cytolytic T cells, and contributes to T cell activation. This cytokine is also reported to play a role in regulating B-cell activation, cytotoxic function of natural killer cells, and immunoglobulin synthesis. Recognizes an integral membrane glycoprotein of 150 kDa, identified as CD13 (also known as aminopeptidase-N). The antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope. The CD13 antigen is present on most cells of myeloid origin including granulocytes, monocytes, mast cells, and GM-progenitor cells. It is also expressed by the majority of AML, CML in myeloid blast crisis, and in a smaller fraction of lymphoid leukemias. CD13 is absent from normal lymphocytes, platelets and erythrocytes. Myogenin is a member of the MyoD family of myogenic basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factors that also includes MyoD, Myf-5, and MRF4 (also known as herculinor Myf-6). MyoD family members are expressed exclusively in skeletal muscle and play a key role in activating myogenesis by binding to enhancer sequences of muscle-specific genes. The regulatory domain of MyoD is approximately 70 amino acids in length and includes both a basic DNA binding motif and a bHLH dimerization motif. MyoD family members share about 80% amino acid homology in their bHLH motifs. Luteinizing hormone (LH) is a glycoprotein. Each monomeric unit is a sugar-like protein molecule; two of these make the full, functional protein. Its structure is similar to the other glycoproteins, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). Recognizes a protein of 40 kDa, identified as CD7 (Workshop IV; Code T155). CD7 is a member of the immunoglobulin gene superfamily. Its N-terminal amino acids 1-107 are highly homologous to Ig kappa-L chains whereas the carboxyl-terminal region of the extracellular domain is proline-rich and has been postulated to form a stalk from which the Ig domain projects. CD7 is expressed on the majority of immature and mature T-lymphocytes, and T cell leukemia. It is also found on natural killer cells, a small subpopulation of normal B cells and on malignant B cells. Cross-linking surface CD7 positively modulates T cell and NK cell activity as measured by calcium fluxes, expression of adhesion molecules, cytokine secretion and proliferation. This MAb reacts with MUC1, a large transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on the ductal surface of normal glandular epithelia. It is used as tracer agent in CA15.3 assays. The extracellular domain of MUC1 largely consists of a highly conserved, O-glycosylated 20 amino acids tandem repeat which can occur 30-100 times per molecule depending on the length of the allele involved. In the vast majority of human carcinomas this protein is up-regulated and poorly glycosylated and appears on the cell surface in a non-polarized fashion. The dominant epitope of this MAb involves both amino acids as well as sugar moieties. This antibody recognizes a protein of 39 kDa, which is identified as Aurora kinase B (or Aurora B). Aurora B is a serine/threonine protein kinase and component of the chromosomal passenger complex (CPC), a complex that acts as a key regulator of mitosis. It is important for accurate chromosome segregation, cytokinesis, protein localization to the centromere and kinetochore, correct microtubule-kinetochore attachment, and regulation of the mitotic checkpoint. The protein encoded by this gene is a homeobox-containing developmental regulator associated with liver development. The encoded protein binds to the alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) gene promoter and increases the expression of AFP. This gene is overexpressed in some lung cancers and is linked to poor patient survival, possibly due to its resistance to cisplatin. This gene is aberrantly methylated in pancreatic cancer, deleted in squamous cell lung carcinomas, and acts as a tumor suppressor in esophageal cancer.
