Biotium Prolactin (Pituitary Tumor Marker)(PRL/2642), 1mg/mL
Prolactin is a growth factor that is secreted by the anterior pituitary. It is necessary for the proliferation and differentiation of the mammary glands. Prolactin is useful in the classification of pituitary tumors and study of pituitary disease. It also plays a role in the development of mammary cancer, functioning dually as a mitogen and a differentiating agent. Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. CF Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Note: Conjugates of blue fluorescent dyes like CF405S and CF405M are not recommended for detecting low abundance targets, because blue dyes have lower fluorescence and can give higher non-specific background than other dye colors.

Biotium CD11c (Dendritic Cell Marker) (ITGAX/2507), CF594 conjugate, 0.1mg/mL
This antibody recognizes a protein of 145 kDa, identified as CD11c. CD11c (ITGAX), a member of the leukointegrin family, shares the same beta subunit with other members of the leukocyte adhesion molecule family, which includes CD11a (LFA-1), CD11b (MAC-1) and CD11d (ITGAD), but has a unique alpha chain. CD11c has been shown to play a role in phagocytosis, cell migration, and cytokine production by monocytes/macrophages as well as induction of T-cell proliferation by Langerhans cells. CD11c is expressed prominently on the plasma membranes of monocytes, tissue macrophages, NK cells, and most dendritic cells (DCs). A lower level of expression is also observed on neutrophils as a result of its high level of expression on most DCs. An antibody to CD11c may aid in identification of lesions with histiocytic origin. It may also been used as a marker for hairy cell leukemia in paraffin-embedded tissues.Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes a

Biotium Spastin(Sp 3G11-1), Biotin conjugate, 0.1mg/mL
The AAA protein family members share an ATPase domain and have roles in various cellular processes including intracellular motility, membrane trafficking, proteolysis, protein folding and organelle biogenesis. Spastin, a member of the AAA protein family, is a 616 amino acid protein and is involved in the function or assembly of nuclear protein complexes. The Spastin protein is expressed ubiquitously and localizes to the nucleus and the cytoplasm, where it may also be involved in microtubule dynamics. Mutations in the Spastin gene (SPAST, SPG4) cause the most common form of spastic paraplegia 4, an autosomal dominant form of hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP). HSPs comprise a group of inherited neurological disorders characterized by spastic lower extremity weakness due to a length-dependent, retrograde axonopathy of corticospinal motor neurons. SPAST-specific mutations account for approximately 40% of all autosomal dominant HSPs. Primary antibodies are available purified, or

Biotium NKX3.1 (Metastatic Prostate Adenocarcinoma Marker)(NKX3.1/2836), CF488A conjugate, 0.1mg/mL
NKX3. 1 is a prostate specific gene encoding a transcription factor that plays an important role in normal prostate development and carcinogenesis. It is a prostatic tumor suppressor gene located on chromosome 8p21. 2, which frequently undergoes a loss of heterozygosity. NKX3. 1 expression is highly restricted in prostate epithelial cells and therefore can be used as a diagnostic biomarker for prostate cancer and other metastatic lesions of prostatic origin. Furthermore, NKX3. 1 shows better sensitivity than Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) for identifying metastatic prostatic adenocarcinoma. This suggests that immunohistochemical staining of NKX3. 1, along with other prostate-restricted markers, may be valuable for the definitive determination of prostatic origin in poorly differentiated metastatic carcinomas. Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. CF Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Note

Biotium Progesterone Receptor (Marker of Progestin Dependence)(PGR/2694), CF568 conjugate, 0.1mg/mL
This MAb is specific to progesterone receptor and shows minimal cross-reaction with other members of the family. Progesterone receptor is expressed as two major isoforms, PR-A (81 kDa) and PR-B (116 kDa). Expression of PgR has been suggested to reflect a intact estrogen regulatory machinery and therefore, predict better clinical response to endocrine therapy than estrogen receptor (ER) alone. This MAb is excellent for immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed tissues.

Biotium Tyrosinase (Melanoma Marker) (TYR/2024R), CF740 conjugate, 0.1mg/mL
This antibody recognizes a cluster of proteins between 70-80 kDa, identified as tyrosinase. Occasionally a minor band at 55 kDa is also detected. This MAb shows no cross-reaction with MAGE-1 and tyrosinase-related protein 1, TRP-1/gp75. Tyrosinase is a copper-containing metalloglycoprotein that catalyzes several steps in the melanin pigment biosynthetic pathway; the hydroxylation of tyrosine to L-3,4-dihydroxy-phenylalanine (dopa), and the subsequent oxidation of dopa to dopaquinone. Mutations of the tyrosinase gene occur in various forms of albinism. Tyrosinase is one of the targets for cytotoxic T-cell recognition in melanoma patients. Staining of melanomas with this MAb shows tyrosinase in melanotic as well as amelanotic variants. This MAb is a useful marker for melanocytes and melanomas.Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. Biotium MTAP (Tumor Suppressor Marker) (MTAP/1813), CF568 conjugate, 0.1mg/mL
This antibody recognizes a protein of 31 kDa, which is identified as MTAP (5'-deoxy-5'-methylthioadenosine phosphorylase). It catalyzes the reversible phosphorolysis of methylthioadenosine, which is important in polyamine metabolism and for the salvage of adenine and methionine. The gene encoding MTAP is linked to the tumor suppressor gene, p16INK4A. Deficient levels of MTAP can occur in cancers primarily through co-deletion of the MTAP gene and the p16INK4A gene. Cells expressing MTAP and possessing adenine salvage pathway activity may be less susceptible to malignancy due to growth-inhibitory actions of agents (e.g. antifolates), whose mechanism of action, in part, involves this de novo purine pathway.Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels.
