Biotium CD44v4 (Marker of Tumor Metastasis) (CD44v4/1700R), Biotin conjugate, 0.1mg/mL
This antibody recognizes an epitope encoded by exon v4 on the variant portion of human CD44. The CD44 molecule belongs to a family of cellular adhesion molecules found on a wide range of normal and malignant cells in epithelial, mesothelial and hemopoiesis tissues. CD44 is a single gene with 20 exons, of which 10 are normally expressed to encode the basic CD44 (H-CAM) molecule. The additional 10 exons (v1 to v10) are only expressed by alternative splicing of the nuclear RNA. The expression of specific cell adhesion molecule CD44 splice variants has been reported to be associated with metastasis in certain human malignancies.Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. CF Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Note: Conjugates of blue fluorescent dyes like CF405S and CF405M are not recommended for detecting low abundance targets, because blue dyes have lower fluorescence and can give higher non-spec

Biotium Insulin Receptor Alpha(INSR/1661), 0.2mg/mL
The insulin receptor (INSR) is a heterodimeric protein complex that has an intracellular subunit, which is disulfide-linked to a transmembrane segment. The insulin ligand binds to the INSR and initiates molecular signaling pathways that promote glucose uptake in cells and glycogen synthesis. Insulin binding to INSR induces phosphorylation of intra-cellular tyrosine kinase domains and recruitment of multiple SH2 and SH3 domain-containing intracellular proteins that serve as signaling intermediates for pleiotropic effects of insulin. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune condition of the endocrine pancreas that results in destruction of insulin secreting cells and a progressive loss in insulin-sensitive glucose uptake by cells. Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. CF Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Note: Conjugates of blue fluorescent dyes like CF405S and CF405M are not recommended for dete

Biotium Desmoglein-1 (DSG1) (DSG1/1733), 0.2mg/mL
This antibody recognizes a protein of ~150 kDa, identified as Desmoglein-1 (DSG1). Desmoglein-1 is a member of the desmosomal cadherin family. Desmosomes are intercellular adhering junctions that represent cell surface attachment sites for intermediate filament. Desmocollins and desmogleins are the main desmosomal transmembrane proteins. Desmogleins consist of Dsg1, Dsg2, Dsg3, and Dsg4 isoforms. Within the desmosome, the extracellular domain of desmoglein is essential for calcium dependent heterophilic binding to the desmocollins, whereas the intracellular domain is essential for binding to the desmosomal plaque protein, plakoglobin. Desmoglein 1 is synthesized exclusively in the suprabasal layers. Intact and functionally active desmoglein 1 is essential to epidermal integrity.Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. CF Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Note: Conjugates of blue fluorescent

Biotium AMACR / p504S (Prostate Cancer Marker) (AMACR/1723), CF647 conjugate, 0.1mg/mL
This antibody recognizes a protein of 42 kDa, which is identified as Alpha-methylacyl-CoA Racemase (AMACR), also known as p504S. It is an enzyme that is involved in bile acid biosynthesis and beta-oxidation of branched-chain fatty acids. AMACR is essential in lipid metabolism. It is expressed in cells of premalignant high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (HGPIN) and prostate adenocarcinoma. The majority of the carcinoma cells show a distinct granular cytoplasmic staining reaction. AMACR is present at low or undetectable levels in glandular epithelial cells of normal prostate and benign prostatic hyperplasia. A spotty granular cytoplasmic staining is seen in a few cells of the benign glands. AMACR is expressed in normal liver (hepatocytes), kidney (tubular epithelial cells) and gall bladder (epithelial cells). Expression has also been found in lung (bronchial epithelial cells) and colon (colonic surface epithelium). AMACR expression can also be found in hepatocellular

Biotium Epstein-Barr Virus (LMP-1)(CS4), 1mg/mL
This antibody is a mixture of four different monoclonal antibodies. This antibody is specific to 60 kDa latent membrane protein (LMP-1) encoded by the BNLF1 gene of the EBV. Each clone reacts with different epitopes on the hydrophilic C-terminus of the cytoplasmic domain of LMP-1. This antibody stains strongly with EBV-positive lymphoblastoid cell lines and EBV infected B cell immunoblasts in infectious mononucleosis. EBV, also designated human herpesvirus 4 (HHV-4), is a member of the herpesvirus family and is one of the most common human viruses. EBV infects B cells and, though often asymptomatic, it can cause infectious mononucleosis, a disease characterized by fatigue, fever, sore throat and muscle soreness. Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. CF Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Biotium CD8A (Cytotoxic- & Suppressor T-Cell Marker)(N/A), CF568 conjugate, 0.1mg/mL
CD8 is a cell surface receptor expressed either as a heterodimer with the CD8 beta chain (CD8 alpha/beta) or as a homodimer (CD8 alpha/alpha). A majority of thymocytes and a subpopulation of mature T cells and NK cells express CD8a. CD8 binds to MHC class 1 and through its association with protein tyrosine kinase p56lck plays a role in T cell development and activation of mature T cells. For mature T-cells, CD4 and CD8 are mutually exclusive, so anti-CD8, generally used in conjunction with anti-CD4. It is a useful marker for distinguishing helper/inducer T-lymphocytes, and most peripheral T-cell lymphomas are CD4 /CD8-. Anaplastic large cell lymphoma is usually CD4 and CD8-, and in T-lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukemia, CD4 and CD8 are often co-expressed. CD8 is also found in littoral cell angioma of the spleen. Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. CF Dyes offer exceptional brightness and photostability. Note:

Biotium PD1, Mouse(RMP1-14), CF568 conjugate, 0.1mg/mL
PD-1 is expressed on a subset of CD4-CD8-thymocytes, and on activated T and B cells. PD-1 is thought to be involved in lymphocyte clonal selection and peripheral tolerance. The PD-1 ligands, PD-L1 (also known as B7-H1) and PD-L2 (B7-DC), are members of the B7 immunoglobulin superfamily. PD-1 is transiently expressed on CD4 and CD8 thymocytes as well as activated T and B-lymphocytes and myeloid cells. Additionally, Pdcd1mRNA is expressed in developing B-lymphocytes during the pro-B-cell stage. The RMP1-14 antibody has been reported to block the binding of PD-1 to its ligands (B7-H1 and B7-DC) and to inhibit T cell proliferation and cytokine production co-stimulated by macrophages (but not by dendritic cells and B cells).Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. Biotium Calponin-1 (Smooth Muscle Marker) (rCNN1/832), CF740 conjugate, 0.1mg/mL
Calponin is a calmodulin, F-actin and tropomyosin binding protein, which is thought to be involved in the regulation of smooth muscle contraction. Calponin expression is restricted to smooth muscle cells and has been shown to be a marker of the differentiated (contractile) phenotype of developing smooth muscle. Multiple isoelectric variants of calponin have been identified, however only two molecular weight isoforms exist, a 34 kDa form and a 29 kDa form. Expression of the 29 kDa form, I-calponin, is primarily restricted to muscle of the urogenital tract, whereas the higher molecular weight variant has been demonstrated in vascular and visceral smooth muscle. In Western blotting, this MAb reacts with only the 34 kDa form of calponin in extracts of human aortic medial smooth muscle and is unreactive with fibroblast extracts of cultivated human foreskin.Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels. Biotium MUC16 / CA125 (Ovarian Carcinoma Marker)(MUC16/1860), CF740 conjugate, 0.1mg/mL
The mucins are a family of highly glycosylated, secreted proteins with a basic structure consisting of a variable number of tandem repeats (VNTRs). Membrane-associated and secretory Mucins are high molecular weight glycoproteins of the glycocalyx (polysaccharide biofilm) that protects mucosal epithelium from particulate matter and microorganisms. Epithelial Mucins are large, secreted and cell surface glycoproteins crucial for adhesion modulation, signaling and epithelial cell protection. The number of repeats is highly polymorphic and varies among different alleles. The Mucin family consists of Mucins 1-4, Mucin 5 (AC and B), Mucins 6-8, Mucins 11-13 and Mucins 15-17. The Mucin 16 protein (also commonly referred to as CA125), encoded for by the gene MUC16, is a very high molecular weight tumor antigen consisting of three domains: a carboxy terminal domain, an extracellular domain and an amino terminal domain. Mucin 16, an ovarian cancer-associated antigen, is used as a marker

Biotium CD30 / TNFRSF8 (Hodgkin & Reed-Sternberg Cell Marker) (Ki-1/1747R), CF488A conjugate, 0.1mg/mL
This antibody recognizes a single chain glycoprotein of 105/120 kDa, identified as CD30/Ki-1. CD30 is synthesized as a 90 kDa precursor, which is processed in the Golgi complex into a membrane-bound phosphorylated mature 105/120 kDa glycoprotein. In Hodgkin's disease, CD30/Ki-1 antigen is expressed by mononuclear-Hodgkin and multinucleated Reed-Sternberg cells. It is also expressed by the tumor cells of a majority of anaplastic large cell lymphomas as well as by a varying proportion of activated T and B cells. This MAb distinguishes large cell lymphomas derived from activated lymphoid cells from histiocytic malignancies and lymphomas derived from resting and precursor lymphoid cells or from anaplastic carcinomas. About one third of the Ki-1 positive lymphomas lack the leukocyte common antigen (CD45).Primary antibodies are available purified, or with a selection of fluorescent CF Dyes and other labels.
