Expression Systems Transfection Medium is designed to complement ESF 921 and ESF AF insect cell culture media for the cotransfection or transfection step in baculovirus vector production. Transfection Medium is a serum-free and animal-free formulation that facilitates vector DNA uptake by the insect host cells. Realize higher titers by using a formulation designed to work with ESF 921 and ESF AF.

Cell Biolabs Inc CytoSelect™ 96-Well Cell Transformation Assay Kit (Cell Recovery Compatible, Colorimetric), 96 assays
The traditional soft agar colony formation assay monitors anchorage-independent cell growth by measuring proliferation in a semisolid culture media in tissue culture dishes after 3-4 weeks, followed by manual counting of colonies. This method is cumbersome and not amenable to high throughput, and the manual counting of colonies is subjective because with varying colony sizes, it’s difficult to determine meaningful results. The CytoSelect™ 96-well Cell Transformation Assay (Cell Recovery Compatible) eliminates subjective manual counting of colonies with a much shorter assay time. Cells are incubated only 6-8 days in a semisolid agar media before being solubilized, lysed and detected by the provided colorimetric dye in a standard plate reader, making it a more quantitative and higher-throughput method. Additionally, the proprietary medium makes it possible to recover viable and intact cells for further downstream analysis. Each kit is sufficient for 96 tests in a microtiter plate.

This media is compatible with both suspension and adherent cell types. It simplifies siRNA delivery, reduces non-specific effects and toxicity and improves gene silencing efficiency.

New England Biolabs, Inc. dam-/dcm- Competent E. coli – 6 x 0.2 ml/tube
Methyltransferase deficient chemically competent E. coli cells suitable for growth of plasmids free of Dam and Dcm methylation. Note that dam- strains are not recommended as a host for primary cloning/ligation. The dam mutation can result in an increased mutation rate in the cell and a reduction in the transformation efficiency. DNA should be maintained in a dam+ strain unless there is a specific need for DNA free of Dam or Dcm methylation.
