Vector Biolabs Catenin (cadherin-associated protein), alpha 1 Adenovirus (Ad-Catenin (Alpha))
The catenins, alpha, beta and gamma, are ubiquitously expressed, cytoplasmic proteins that associate with E-cadherin at cellular junctions. Catenin-Alpha, a 102 kDa protein, was initially described as an E-cadherin associated protein, and since has been shown to associate with other members of the cadherin family, such as N-cadherin and P-cadherin.The 92 kDa beta-catenin associates with the cytoplasmic portion of E-cadherin, which is necessary for the func-tion of E-cadherin as an adhesion molecule. Beta-catenin has also been found in complexes with the tumor suppressor protein APC. Gamma-catenin, also known as plakoglobin, is an 82 kDa protein that binds with α-catenin and N-cad-herin.
Vector Biolabs Signal transducer/activator of transcription 5B Adenovirus (Ad-STAT5b)
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by the receptor associated kinases, and then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the cell nucleus where they act as transcription activators. This protein mediates the signal transduction triggered by various cell ligands, such as IL2, IL4, CSF1, and different growth hormones. It has been shown to be involved in diverse biological processes, such as TCR signaling, apoptosis, adult mammary gland development, and sexual dimorphism of liver gene expression.

Vector Biolabs F-box only protein 32 Adenovirus (Ad-Fbox32)
MuRF1 (Muscle specific ring finger protein 1) is a nuclear protein that interacts with SMT3b and the large myofibrillar protein titin. MaFbx (Muscle atrophy F-box protein) recognizes and promotes ubiquitination and degradation of phosphorylated proteins during skeletal muscle atrophy. MaFbx or MuRF1 are resistant to atrophy and are therefore potential drug targets for muscle atrophy treatment. Both genes encode ubiquitin ligases and are muscle specific.

Cre recombinase is used as a tool to genetically modify genes, such as to delete a segment of DNA flanked by LoxP sites in cells or experimental animals.By applying the mammalian codon usage to Cre recombinase, expression of Cre is improved in the mammalian cells. This improved Cre (iCre) gene also reduce the high CpG content of the prokaryotic coding sequence, thereby reducing the chances of epigenetic silencing in mammals.This AAV1 stock expresses an improved Cre (iCre) along with eGFP under a control of the same CMV promoter. The Cre and eGFP was separated by a 2A peptides.

Mammalian homologs of the Drosophila Mad gene include Smad1 (also designated Madr1 or JV4-1), Smad2 (also designated Madr2 or JV18-1), Smad3, Smad4 (also designated DPC4), Smad5, Smad6, Smad7 and Smad8 (also designated Smad9). Smad1 and Smad5 are effectors of BMP2 and BMP4 function while Smad2 and Smad3 are involved in TGFb and activin-mediated growth modulation. Smad4 is required for all of the above activities and necessitates FAST-1 for DNA binding. Smad6 and Smad7 regulate the response to activin/ TGF-beta signaling by interfering with TGF-beta-mediated phosphorylation of other Smad family members.

Cas9 is the nuclease guided by the crRNA and tracrRNA (or trans-activating crRNA) to cleave specific DNA sequences. A guide RNA (gRNA) can be designed to include a hairpin that mimics the tracrRNA-crRNA complex. Binding specificity is based on the gRNA and a three nucleotide NGG sequence called the protospacer adjacent motif (PAM) sequence. With its ease in designing guide sequences to target specific genomic loci, the CRISPR/Cas system is a much simpler, faster, and robust alternative to TALEN and Zinc finger nuclease platforms. For site-specific genome editing, the CRISPR/Cas9 system requires the Cas 9 nuclease and the gRNA. This adenovirus expresses a codon-optimized Cas9 nuclease, along with a mCherry reporter. It can be used along with guided RNA for genome-editing.This adenovirus expresses a FLAG tagged Cas9 with a mCherry reporter.
