It has high photostability and brightness. The iGD IFluor 647 dye is supplied as a lyophilized solid that should be reconstituted in anhydrous DMSO. Once reconstituted, it can label proteins via NHS ester and maleimide chemistries. This fluorescent label is suitable for detecting low abundance targets.
