This compound can permeate the blood-brain barrier. It significantly declines tau aggregation foci, effectively inhibiting Aβ1-42 aggregation by 84.7%-99.5% and tau aggregation by 71.2%-101.8%.

HCG is a glycoprotein, which is secreted in large quantities by normal trophoblasts. It is present only in trace amounts in non-pregnant urine and sera but rises sharply during pregnancy.
