Violet Red Bile Glucose Agar (VRBGA)a selective and non-differential medium used for the detection and enumeration of Enterobacterales in food and dairy products. It is also recommended for the isolation of bile-tolerant gram-negative bacteria from non-sterile pharmaceutical products. Bile salts and crystal violet inhibit gram-positive bacteria. Glucose fermenters produce red colonies with red-purple halos (a bile precipitation) in the presence of neutral red, which is a pH indicator. • Product meets BAM, CLSI, and Harmonized USP/EP/JP reference methods and performance criteria.• VRBG Agar should be used by trained professionals within a laboratory setting. • Product is not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of disease or other human conditions.
