4-MUNANA is a fluorogenic substrate used to quantify neuraminidase (sialidase) activity in biochemical and cell-based assays. As the sodium salt of 2'-(4-methylumbelliferyl)-α-D-N-acetylneuraminic acid, enzymatic cleavage releases the fluorescent 4-methylumbelliferone reporter for sensitive fluorometric detection.
- Fluorogenic substrate for neuraminidase assays (excitation ~365 nm; emission ~410 nm).
- Releases 4-methylumbelliferone upon enzymatic hydrolysis for sensitive detection.
- High purity suitable for research use (98.08%).
- Solid, white to light yellow; molecular weight 489.41 g/mol.
- Stable when stored sealed at -20°C; in solvent: -80°C (6 months), -20°C (1 month).
- Available in small research pack sizes for laboratory assays.
