2-Hydroxy-4-methoxybenzaldehyde is a potent tyrosinase inhibitor and an isomer of Vanillin. It can be used in the synthesis of Urolithin M7 and inhibits the oxidation of L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-DOPA) by mushroom tyrosinase with an ID50 of 4.3 μg/mL (0.03 mM).
