It functions by binding to the Raf kinase inhibitor RKIP protein, thereby disrupting the interaction between RKIP and Raf-1 kinase, as well as G protein-coupled receptor kinase 2. This compound has been shown to inhibit cell proliferation and migration and has been observed to worsen thioacetamide-induced acute liver failure in mice.
