Resazurin sodium (Diazoresorcinol sodium) is a non-toxic, stable, and membrane-permeable blue non-fluorescent dye that is faintly fluorescent. It functions as a redox indicator, capable of being reduced in living cells to produce pink, highly fluorescent Resorufin (with excitation at 530-560 nm and emission at 590 nm). This makes Resazurin sodium useful for various cellular assays.
