ACV Tripeptide is a tripeptide and a dedicated intermediate in the biosynthetic pathway producing penicillin and cephalosporin classes of β-lactam natural products in bacteria and fungi. It is synthesized nonribosomally by the ACV synthetase (ACVS) enzyme and can be utilized for the biosynthesis of β-lactam antibiotics. This product contains the unusual amino acid, α-aminoadipic acid (α-AAA), as well as L-cysteine and D-valine.
