This monoclonal antibody, clone YTS 177, reacts with mouse CD4, a 55 kDa cell surface glycoprotein. CD4 functions as a co-receptor with the T cell receptor, interacting with class II MHC molecules on antigen-presenting cells. It is crucial for T cell development and optimal function. The YTS 177 antibody is non-depleting but induces rapid internalization of CD4, and has been shown to suppress or prevent allograft rejection, allergic reactions, and autoimmune responses.
