The GR-20 monoclonal antibody interacts with the mouse IFNγR (interferon gamma receptor) α chain (CD119). CD119 forms a heterodimer to create the IFNγR, a Class II cytokine receptor found on nearly all cell types. The GR-20 antibody targets an epitope within the receptor's ligand-binding site, preventing IFNγ from binding and inhibiting IFNγ-mediated effects.
