The 1G9 monoclonal antibody targets mouse TIGIT (T cell immunoreceptor with Ig and ITIM domains), a 26 kDa type I transmembrane protein. TIGIT, expressed on follicular T helper cells in mice and various T cell subsets and NK cells in humans, negatively regulates NK and T cell activation. Its binding on T cells by dendritic cells promotes a tolerogenic phenotype.
