Specificity: Clone B122 recognizes mouse IL-1β. Cell sources: IL-1β is found in monocytes, tissue macrophages, Langerhan and dendritic cells, T and B lymphocytes, NK cells, LGL, vascular endothelium, smooth muscle, fibroblasts, thymic epithelia, astrocytes, microglia, and glioma. Background: IL-1β is a 17.5 kD proinflammatory cytokine. IL-1β mediates a variety of immune and inflammatory responses. IL-1β is a major cause of severe inflammation in the mouse model of Crohn’s Disease, which makes IL-1β an important target for this disease. Applications: (N, IP, WB) B122 neutralizes the bioactivity of natural or recombinant IL-1β, and also recognizes rat IL-1β. Leinco’s In vivo GOLDTM and In vivo PLATINUMTM functional antibodies are manufactured in an animal free facility using only In vitro cell culture techniques and are purified by a multi-step process including the use of protein A or G to assure extremely low levels of endotoxins, leachable protein A or aggregates.
