ART is a cell line exhibiting epithelial morphology that was derived from an existing ovarian cell line from a 64-year-old female. It can be used to evaluate the infectious entry of polyomaviruses (BKPyV, JCPyV, SV40, MCPyV) and human papillomaviruses. Pathogenic variants of the JCPyV virus previously believed to be non-infectious can infect this cell line.
