Our lyophilized Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) contains 583 amino acid residues derived from the prototypical BSA sequence. This native protein has a purity of greater than 97% and is suitable for use as a biochemical, excipient (an inert substance used as a diluent or vehicle for a protein), in cell culture media, and chromatographic applications. Applications: BSA has numerous applications including ELISA, immunoblots, and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Because BSA is a small, stable, moderately non-reactive protein, it is often used as a blocking reagent in IHC. BSA is often used as a protein concentration standard in lab experiments (ex. Bradford protein assay). BSA is also used as a nutrient in cell and microbial culture. BSA has been widely used as a template to synthesize nanostructures. Storage: Lyophilized BSA, although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored 2-8°C. Upon reconstitution BSA should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C.
