Calhex 231 hydrochloride is a selective negative allosteric modulator of the calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) used as a research reagent to investigate CaSR-mediated signaling and related pathologies. It blocks Ca2+-induced inositol phosphate accumulation and has been applied in cellular and in vivo studies of traumatic hemorrhagic shock and diabetic cardiomyopathy.
