CD8 rabbit antibody is a T-cell subset found in cortical thymocytes, T-cells and natural killer (NK) cells. CD8 rabbit antibody stains cortical thymocytes (70-80%), T-cells (25-35% of mature peripheral T-cells) and NK cells (30%). Studies have shown that CD8 is expressed more frequently in non-common type anaplastic lymphoma kinase positive anaplastic large cell lymphomas compared to the common form. The CD4:CD8 ratio may be helpful in distinguishing mycosis fungoides from its inflammatory mimics or as an aid in determining clinical outcome in cervical carcinoma. CD8 may be used in panels with CD3, CD4, CD57 and TIA-1.
